As a licensed therapist and parentification expert, I help organizations understand how over-responsibility, emotional labor, and systemic bias affect the mental health of Black women. Through my consulting and speaking work, I guide teams in creating spaces that prioritize care, boundaries, and cultural responsiveness—so high-responsibility women don’t burn out trying to hold everything together.
Montina Galloway
Hey, I’m Montina—licensed therapist, EMDR-trained trauma therapist, consultant, and speaker. I help high-responsibility Black women stop carrying what was never theirs to hold and reclaim a life rooted in rest, boundaries, and truth.
As the founder of Myers-Galloway Counseling I specialize in healing the mental and emotional impact of early caregiving, burnout, trauma and over-functioning. My work isn’t about helping you push through—it’s about helping you pause, feel, and live fully.
Whether I’m guiding a therapy client, leading a retreat, or consulting with an organization, I use my signature framework, to support transformation that is both personal and systemic. I care so deeply about this mission, I even gave a TEDx talk called Why Black Women Should Stop Being Responsible—a direct challenge to the harmful expectations placed on us.

Speaking Testimonial
"Montina is a captivating speaker whose passion to see first generation Black women executives rise was genuinely felt throughout her talk. The topic of imposter syndrome can be uncomfortably relatable. She gives each audience member a pathway of hope to know they are not alone and there is another way. I would hire Montina again in a heartbeat and am looking forward to having her speak at future events."
